Feeling Snarky: UFO Whiner-Pundits

top secret2

Being snarky. A popular blog that some think highly of — why, I have no idea — has gone covert. After a few posts about the lack of comments left by visitors to this blog, which is known for snarky-ness, outright insults, and pedantic arcane language that would put Shakespeare to sleep, the blogger (who I will not name, have refused to refer directly to this person by name for over ten years) has shut his blog off to the hoi polli. That’s you and me by the way. Great unwashed masses of illiterate saucer heads. That’s us, my friend.

UFO Land is a place full of contradictory crazy makers. Complaining about little “serious” UFO study, deciding what and who is “serious” and rejecting those who don’t fit one’s personal agenda. Then pulling a Robert Bigelow and shutting off public access.

I don’t care (oh I know, “then why are you writing about it Ms. Lee?” one could ask) but I find it amusing, frustrating, and hypocritical all at once. The blog always annoyed the hell out of me anyway. But I’m in a bit of a mood right now and get fed up with know it alls who get away with bullying in this field. Actions like that validate my original thoughts regarding that this pundit is to laugh, after all.

Just Be Honest and Do The Work

My latest rant on Facebook, related to… oh I don’t know. Just the usual I suppose. The arguments, the in-fighting, the eating our own, the UFO Police.

UFOlogy needs to stop being so needy. And at the same time, stop being so authoritarian. There will be no UFO Police. Stop being so damn obsequious; trying to get the approval of Science, and to a lesser degree, academia. Just be honest. Just listen. Stop being competitive and accept that we are individuals, with individual talents and experiences, backgrounds and knowledge, to contribute. And stop being afraid to call out those creeps who get away with stuff because he (or she) is “one of us.” David Jacobs being at the top of the list. You don’t personally think there are reptilians? Fine. Don’t. But move on. But be honest if an account shows up in your data. Don’t mock or reject based on your own bias. This is what UFOlogy needs, not the surreal loop of non-productive whining about science, and the “crazies.” You do realize that to the outside world, also known as the “real” world, we’re All crazy, here in the fringe? So you can forget that. Just do the work, be honest, listen, and get over yourself.
